Our StoryFire, not freezers.
One grill, one idea, and a line out the door. This is how Ali's BBQ became Phuket's home of charcoal — feeding champions since 2012.
It started with a single bag of charcoal and a promise: real food, fresh every day.
In 2012 Ali lit one grill and started cooking the food he grew up on — koubideh kebabs, saffron rice, salads off the flame. No freezers, no shortcuts, no microwave. Just charcoal, smoke and a queue of hungry locals who kept coming back.
Word travelled the way good food does. Tuk-tuk drivers, Muay Thai fighters cutting weight and refuelling after camp, families on a Friday night — they all found the same plate waiting: bold, halal, and made to order.
Fourteen years later there are five Ali's BBQ houses across the island, but nothing about the method has changed. Every branch lights real charcoal, preps fresh each morning, and grills your order on the spot.
Five houses across Phuket — open daily since 2012Fighters, families & champions.
Muay Thai fighters cutting weight, families on a Friday night, tuk-tuk drivers on a break — they all pull up a chair at Ali's. Big halal platters, charcoal-grilled to order, built to refuel a champion.
What we will never change.
100% Halal
Certified halal at every branch, so the whole table can dig in with confidence.
Charcoal only
Real open flame, real smoke. Nothing here ever meets a freezer or a microwave.
Fresh every day
Prepped each morning and grilled to order, the same way since 2012.
From one grill to five houses.
The first grill
Ali fires up a single charcoal grill in Phuket and starts serving kebabs to a growing line of regulars.
Word gets out
Fighters and families make Ali's a weekly ritual. The menu grows from skewers to full family platters.
The Smoke House
A bigger pit opens — low smoke, open flame, and platters built to feed a whole table.
Five branches strong
Chalong, Smoke House, Kathu, Nai Harn and Bang Tao — five houses, one fire, open daily across Phuket.
